“The New Normal” Travelling During a Pandemic

The new year 2020 came with major changes to what we considered normal, a new deadly virus dawned upon us and countries all over the world were affected from locking down the countries to wearing masks everywhere and sanitizing your hands every now and then.

Covid 19 spread so fast and one of the industries were that affected largely is the tours and travel as well as hospitality industry. When it came to 2021, the new normal became wearing a mask, washing hands as well as sanitizing. The virus is still with us and with this in mind, we have had to adjust our way of living. We have to learn how to work around this virus and here are some tips and tricks that can help you stay safe and still enjoy travelling.

Vaccination

There are so many myths and misconceptions around the Covid-19 virus but majority of the doctors are advocating for it. This is one way of ensuring your safety regardless of whether you are travelling or not.

There fore when travelling you have to ensure you abide by the laws and policies of the country or place where you will be travelling to.

DISCLAIMER: Consult health practitioners before getting the vaccine.

Mask up

One of the ways in which Covid-19 spreads is through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose.

In July 2021, the CDC advised all people — vaccinated and unvaccinated — to wear masks in public indoor places, in areas with substantial or high transmission of the virus. The CDC has always advised unvaccinated people to mask indoors, and also advises anyone at increased risk to wear a mask indoors, regardless of the level of community transmission.

This means having a mask even when travelling is safe for both you and the other people.

STAY SAFE, MASK UP

Social Distancing

Many organizations across the world were forced to close down and majority of their employees had to work from home which meant we needed to maintain physical and social distancing. This is to ensure that the spread of the virus is limited and to also ensure you keep the other person safe.

This is why the transport industry is also taking relevant measures to ensure all passengers are safe.
